Figueres is the capital of the l’Alt Empordà region, in the province of Girona. It is a well communicated city. Thanks to its location, from Figueres it is possible to get to the beach (Costa Brava), the mountain (Pirineos) or cross the french border in less than half an hour.
Figueres stands out basically for its cultural offer, for it is the birthplace of Salvador Dalí. It is in Figueres where the Teatre-Museu Dalí can be found, the biggest surrealist object in the world and the one that contains the largest number of art belonging to Dalí, from his first artistic experiences and surrealist creations to his latest pieces of art.
